Antony Lorraine

1995, 23:00 minutes, colour

The Celtic Crosses of Ahenny, Killamery, Killree, St. Mullins, Moone, Castledermot, and Kilcullen, etc. These were sculpted between the eighth and the eleventh century and illustrate celtic-christian iconography with strong echoes of sun and serpent symbolism. These picture bible crosses helped the monks in a preliterate culture to teach the scriptural stories. With a descriptive narration.
