A man murders his dying lover. He drowns him in a bucket of water. We drift through the man's mind in the hours following the murder. He falls through deeper and deeper layers of memory. La mémoire de l'eau is a tale of fear, love and grief set in a world of uncertain boundaries. Excerpt from the narration: "I started feeling something new, unlike anything I had ever felt before in my life. I had the sensation of something covering me. It was not presence, it was not longing to be with him who was now dead. Progressively, in touches I could feel something covering my skin and taking over my sense of smell and touch. I felt myself drowning in smell and touch. I felt myself drowning in smell. I became heavy with an extra skin."
