A two-part documentary celebrating ordinary Native people all across Canada in a series of portraits and profiles. Flora Crane, an elder from The Pas, Manitoba, demonstrates how she scrapes moose hides. This sections ends with the hope that someone will offer to learn her craft. Children from the Temegami Band in Ontario return to Agoodjidjing with some elders who used to live there, and they visit the remnants of the village. Around a fire, elders recall the past. Juliana and Stan Julian at the Atton Indian Band in Nova Scotia express concerns about preserving their Native language. The Kawacatoose Indian Band in Saskatchewan is where we find Milton Asapace talking to Native youngsters before a sweatlodge ceremony. He speaks of respect for nature and one's self. Roy Girouz and grandson Randy and Terry of the Driftpile Band north of Edmonton show us snaring rabbits and explain the importance of passing on traditions to the next generation.
