Dutch Light - Textual Actions

1981, 23:00 minutes, colour, English

TAPECODE 9295

Before us on the small screen Dutch tableaux march past, urban as well as rural landscapes, actions so simple such as those of a person pushing a bicycle, old photographs, the artist on the ground painting the names of Dutch painters on a large surface of paper, etc. A long thick text accompanies these images that don't seem to have an evident link with them. It is as though in the slow and dense unfolding of the various actions, the artist had intended to paint with her video camera.
