Many Native people come to Montreal from various places in Canada searching for employment and a better life. Without money, friends or work, they quickly find themselves part of the homeless population living on the streets, alienated from the general population and distanced from their traditional values. Native filmmaker Alanis Obomsawin examines the problems of these individuals and the effectiveness of the organizations trying to help them survive.
