The Kitty Within

Janet Hawkwood

1992, 06:00 minutes

A 1920's bar room is filled with smoke and laughter. On top of the piano, a woman sings of betrayal and heartbreak, beside her, her companion sits indifferent, painting her nails as she waits. Through the dim lit haze, a tap-dancer moves lightly to her song. A the table, a drunk slumps over his drink, mourning his own lost love.
The Kitty Within transports the viewer into the music and time of Kurt Weill, back into the world of the cabaret.
