Celebration

1995, 09:00 minutes

TAPECODE 3040.00

Celebration was shot in the fall of 1994. It is about the Native Addictions Council of Manitoba's annual sobriety pow-wow. This particular pow-wow is held to honour and support its clients and others who have an addiction to alcohol or drugs, but are now trying to lead alcohol and drug-free lifestyles. Traditional native spirituality plays a huge role in the way this centre tries to help its clients. This pow-wow is an extension of the Council's approach to dealing with a problem that faces many First Nations people.
