Sexist Seeds Grow Sexist Trees

1984, 45:00 minutes, colour, English

Sexist Seeds Grow Sexist Trees evolved from a student employment program, Youth Confronting Adolescent Sexism, which involved eleven young people. The end product of this summer project was a street theatre production which was developed through theatrical improvisation. Twelve scenarios were created by the adolescents and were based on research and live interviews with their peers, parents and other community members. Once Sexist Seeds Grow Sexist Trees was performed throughout the city, the play was then recorded on video in order for it to remain an educational tool for the community.
