Call of the Drum

TAPECODE 242.00
This is a story of how 40 years of silence in our community was broken as each one of us heard the "Call of the Drum" and came to the Ska7tis Drum Group to learn more about drumming and singing. It is the story of how it has changed our lives and helped us to learn to take care of not only ourselves and our families but also our community and future generations by learning more about our culture, language and history through our interest in drumming and singing. The traditional methods of drumming and singing are taught by Casimir Felix and his wife Edna Felix, daughter Laureen and her son Gabe. Rosalind Williams is also a featured teacher of contemporary methods of song creation.
