Through searching the detritus, both physical and experimental, of the beach Days works to gather together landscapes of past, present and future following the death of a parent. Different spoken and written narratives, including a clairvoyant reading recorded for the film maker's mother, letters, and personal anecdotes confuse a notion of time in the film. the beach provides a sense of place and in betweeness, which is also the space between Australia and New Zealand, and between mother and daughter.
