Coming Home to Waasagomach... A Community Assisted Hearing
2001, 25:00 minutes, colour, English
TAPECODE 281.09
A Parole Board hearing takes place in a remote Northern Manitoba community. The Parole process is conducted outside the walls of an institution and in the home of the offender. This process allows the community and families to participate more fully in the decision of the inmate's return home, by setting conditions and providing supports. This was the first time a community assisted hearing was held in Manitoba. A moving and intense meeting hosted in the parents' home.
