Grade 12 Queer
2002, 05:00 minutes, colour, English
This video sarcastically explores the identity and experience of a queer Grade 12 student within Canada's educational system. Feelings of exclusion, isolation, and non-representation are highlighted through the incongruous relationship between narration and image. This work also raises awareness of the contradictions between the lustful curiosity of sexual identity formation and internalized homophobia that paradoxically coexist.
