New York Talk

Atsushi Ogata

2001, 12:40 minutes, colour

TAPECODE 121.14

Second work in the series of comical pseudo-educational videos in which the artist plays a character learning to adapt to his life in another city/country. In this work, he explores life in New York City, where he was actually raised as a teenager. This cultural satire is based on the artist's own observations and experience of life in New York and combines both spoken texts and performance. Written, acted/performed, directed, and shot by the artist, and edited entirely in-camera as in his previous work "The Dutch Touch".
