A Kiss On The Mouth is a strong and sensitive video about female prostitution in urban Brazil. Shot in the streets of the Boca Do Lixo, Sao Paulo's red light district, this documentary explores the women's thoughts and experiences as sex trade workers. They reveal the difficulties of police harassment, violence, poverty and racism encountered in their daily work, as well as the intimate balance between their working and personal relationships.

Sans utiliser de voix "off" ni d'autre technique envahissante, de Melo présente une série de "vox populi" avec des prostituées travaillant dans le Lixu (le quartier des "ordures") de Sao Paulo. Elles parlent sans détour de leur vie et de leur travail, du harcèlement de la police, de leur famille, du SIDA et de leurs projets d'avenir.
