A video documentation by one of Asia's foremost performance artist, LEEeWen of the 2nd Open Art Festival, Pengshan County, Leshan and Chengdu Sichuan province, China between 8 to 17 August 2001. Organized by CHEN Jin, SHU Yang and ZHU Ming.

23 artists international artists presented their performances in Sichuan province for the first time in China. It's inconceivable for foreign artists that performance art has an "underground" status in China. We were practically doing it "on the run" without realizing it or understanding the nature of it. A history-making event, Not only that it's the first time so many foreign artists gathered in China to present performance art but also so many Chinese performance artists gathered together with us. There is still much to learn and understand through international meetings like these.

Participating artists:
ARAI Shin-ichi (Japan), Skip Arnold (USA), Anita Cahill (Ireland), CHEN Jin (China), DAI Guangyu (China), Jozsef R. Juhasz (Slovakia), Miriam King (UK), Myriam Laplante (Canada), Eric Letourneau (Canada), Lennie Lee (UK), LEE Wen (Singapore), LI Qiang (China), System HM2T- Helge Meyer & Marco Teubner (Germany), Despina Olbric-Marianou (Greece/Germany), Beate Roning (Germany), SHU Yang (China), SONG Yongxing (China), TIAN Liusha (China), YIN Xiafeng (China), YU Ji (China), ZHU Ming (China), ZHU Yu (China)
