Back in 1950, a group of Argentinean workers set about the construction of the southern-most train on earth, a cargo train that would transport coal from the RÌo Turbio mines on the Andes to the Atlantic Ocean in the hauntingly beautiful Patagonia. They worked for months under severe winter conditions, in order to mitigate the deficiencies of coal in the country.

Entirely shot on Super-8 film, F.I.R.T. 119 was edited by Adriana de los Santos and Ruben Guzman specially for a live musical performance-composition for "prepared" piano (Adriana de los Santos) and electronics (Mariano Losi/ Nicol·s Ceccinini).

It has been recently performed at "Concert IV", Contemporary Music Concerts, Teatro San MartÌn, SecretarÌa de Cultura (San MartÌn Theater, Secretary of Culture), Buenos Aires, and at "Fuegos de SalÛn", Centro Nacional de la M˙sica, DirecciÛn Nacional de Artes, SecretarÌa de Cultura de la NaciÛn (National Music Centre, National Arts Office, Secretary of Culture), Buenos Aires, amongst other venues.
