Chasing The Dragon is an exploration of the meaning of the "exotic" as it applies to notions of Asianness and sexual stereotypes. The tape attempts to move beyond simply presenting the "exotic" through interviews with both male and female Asians, talking about their experiences and understanding of the "exotic". Chasing The Dragon is in two parts. Part one explores the development of a persona, Cherry. She is the fantasy woman on the other side of a 1-900-number. She is nothing more than a slick video image. Part two consists of the interviews in which westernized Asians negotiate the uncertain territory between East and West.
