Treize tableaux treize portraits
1991, 21:00 minutes, colour, French
Thirteen paintings form a framework. The works vary in length from one minute to three minutes thirty seconds. Grouped together as an album, these short videos are sketches of paintings, reviewed and corrected before the camera. The thirteen videos succeed one another like the pages of an uncompleted encyclopedia, sometimes still, sometimes turning. A painting? A video? Both are defined by a frame.
... Un cadre les retient.
