Brain Worm

Gary Kibbins

2006, 24:00 minutes, colour, English

An unserious team of literary critics, ‘pataphysicians, and code breakers are given the task of interpreting a paragraph of text concerning the reproductive cycle of a common parasite, only to find that the text is not interpretable. Their extravagantly failed effort leaves a trail of cultural debris in its wake: lost footage, found footage, nursery rhymes, out-of-tune guitars, computerized text-to-image translations, non-computerized text-to-music transmogrifications, all serving the higher purposes of Cagean nude hockey.
