Avalanche Close to Home

Libby Hague

2007, 25:29 minutes, colour, English

Avalanche Close to home integrates two previous works by projecting Close to home, along with new animation on the snowstorm theme, onto a huge paper Avalanche. The effect is to echo and fragment the imagery while bringing it back at times to the combined work's original inspiration of moving stained glass.  By situating a domestic disaster in a natural catastrophe, this piece can also be read metaphorically as exploring the potential for rescue in a time of disaster.
