Dr. Jack Preger has been practicing medicine illegally in the street in Calcutta for ten years. This video shows us Dr. Preger's "street hospital" and introduces us to the volunteers who run it. These volunteers come from all walks of life, travelling from Canada, England, Germany and other nations at their own expense to provide medical care to the millions of impoverished Indians who have no access to health care. We follow a Nova Scotian volunteer during his time at Dr. Preger's street hospital and inside Mother Teresa's Home for the Dying. The volunteer speaks of the shock of being introduced to a new way of life, and about the rewards that he received in return for his actions.
