I was watching a documentary about war and was listening to the recounts and experiences that the men relayed to the cameras. They were now painfully aware of the glorification that the government placed on the war. The Veterans knew that the recruiters intended to seek out the young and impressionable with promises of heroism and glamour. Their recruitment advertisements and posters were sending words of encouragement, imagery of blissful bravery and smiling faces. This was by no means what the young men were faced with.

I decided that I would make a short war advertisement of my own in the form of an animation. I used bright blinking lights and colors which would first get the viewers attention (like the blinking bright signs of Vegas that grab the focus of people and their sought after money). I also placed skull and crossbones in this animation. I wanted to emphasize how it has been introduced into pop culture and fashion. A design pertaining to death which is now celebrated on children’s and young adult’s clothing and jewelry of today.
