This film is based on the filmmakers personal experience of discovering sound via a Hybrid Cochlear Implant. Her sense of sound expands, along with her sense of self as she develops a new perception of the world.
Experimental sound and subtitles are used to give a sense of the Hard-of-Hearing experience. The dramatic story is interwoven with surgery footage to highlight the interdependence of the emotional and physical journey.
