When I contemplate the ocean, I revise the story of immigration. As if we left with "something". Through these waters, I always look forward to that "something" … The departures and the exiles due to the war are violent … Maybe the exile will have no more access to their country of childhood and the smells of these times … No earth, no national identity, no history(story), no civilization appropriate to …

This video is a document poem, gathering and combining the water-related images which makes memory.

It is necessary to underline that I have already created multiple works in relationship to water and oceans. The ocean, having its own deep beauty, separates families as a "wall". For me the approach toward water in my performances and creations is always in relationship to social phenomenon. The water represents not only the ecological aspect and first necessity to live and to worship, but also an economic and political subject, because its cost is already higher than black gold.

Part of the series Behind, comprised of three videos: Ruisseau de la mémoire, Capter Capture, and Braze, that show dangers and the precariousness that Afghan immigrant workers encounter every day at the construction site of a building in the rich area of Tehran. I felt the same sensations, the dangers and the solitude, in exile.

The workers having neither the means nor the essential protections to work, have to endure mortal risks to build. The private or public persons in charge seem to forget their commitments to the lives of the workers, some of whom die on the job at the construction sites. Immigrant, emigrated artist, all want to build their ideals … The exile, in brief, belongs, especially when they don't have money!
