Dis-caract introduces us to Natalie, a struggling visual artist who works sleeplessly on her own artistic practices and in isolation from reality. After a series of tireless nights concentrating on her artwork Natalie is visited by an ethereal character who steals one of her elegant watercolours, thus bridging the gap to her subconscious. Whisked into the surreal and idealized art studio of her wildest dreams, Natalie recklessly visits her inner subjectivity and the eccentric happenings. With an air of disbelief culled from her observations of the bizarre performances and idiosyncratic discussions occurring in this studio, our main character sensitively navigates the slippery realm of her inner domain with tactile intuition. The journey into this cacophonous interior realm is shared by a handful of costumed performers who venture into bizarre displays of surrealism, these characters may be the key component to opening up and reconfiguring the way in which Natalie looks at handling the practice of art in-itself.
