A young man finds solace in the presence of the great river Ganges, while troubled by signs of pollution. He brings a sample of the river water to a laboratory and then waits for five days for results. He moves through the sacred city of Varanasi, meets a foreigner and prays by the river before learning the results of the test. The test reveals surprising strengths about the river, along with extremely high levels of pollution.
