naakita f.k. (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Tio'Tia:Ke/Mooniyang/Montreal, QC. They use their installations as a means to listen, translate, and tell stories related to extractive practices and notions of inheritance and legacy. Notable presentations of their work include MoMA PS1, New York, NY (2012); Trinity Square Video, Toronto, ON (2016); Knot Project Space, Ottawa, ON (2018); Mémoire de l'Avenir, Paris, FR (2019); EXPRESSION, Saint-Hyacinthe, QC (2020); Videofenster, Cologne, DE (2021); Fonderie Darling, Montreal, QC (2022); and Images Festival, Toronto, ON (2023).
