A Super 8mm film installation.

Burn Pile climaxes a decade-long purge of belongings, an outcome of extensive healing work around my mood disorders and gender nonconformity. After much selling and donating and passing along, I was left with a handful of precious objects that no longer served me or the world. The six burns presented here were among over two dozen ceremonial burns in the course of two shoots; on many burns the camera malfunctioned, making chance a key element in the piece. The viewers are commonplace Fisher-Price toys manufactured in the 1970s and repurposed for this project, facilitating the full modern comforts of solitary viewing.
