The Love Show inverts a plethora of BBC formats to construct a loose series of scenes detailing the power relationships between men and women, gays and the police, and the media and its newsworthy public. The tape opens with a police officer interrogating a mother about her son, who has been picked up on a secluded beach with another man. Marshall demands that the audience play an active role in this work, consciously taking apart the implications of each segment to extract meaning.
