Doris Chase: Artist in Motion presents the artist inside her studios in Seattle and New York City at the Chelsea Hotel, and highlights her early achievements. The video provides a basic introduction to the technical innovations and special video effects created by colourizers, synthesizers and sequencers. Chase not only explains individual technique but is able, on the video to show the viewer examples of each technique by using segments of her work. This visual device is enormously helpful to an audience approaching video art for the first time. The video accompanies a book Doris Chase: Artist in Motion.
