Cyborg Envy

Lesley Wahl

1998, 03:00 minutes, colour, English

Cyborg Envy uses internal imagery of the artist's body to view an "un-seeable sex act". Technology is imagined as a Phallic Structure as the artist probes ideas concerning female spectatorship and language acquisition. The performance-based tape comes to terms with technology as sexy, seductive and powerful but ultimately impotent; incapable of being seduced.
