You're a Woman is a tribute to the strength of Joanne's mother, Maisie Shenandoah who is a Wolf Clanmother of the Oneida Indian Nation and to all women who are icons of strength and wisdom. The scenes in the music video are from a concert at the State University of New York at Oswego and at Stockbridge Falls, which lies on original Oneida lands.
Liz Obomsawin, a member of the Abenaki and Oneida First Nations, directed this 3 1/2 music video which features world-renowned and grammy-nominated Native American singer/songwriter Joanne Shenandoah.
