The last time I heard a man disdainfully described as "living in a fantasy world" my immediate response (and defense) was, "...but does he apply it somehow?"
In 1978, Ricardo Montalban and Herve Villechaize burst onto TV screens together (in radiant white suits, beguiling smiles and exuberant proclamations) and in essence spent the following six years enticing audiences and performers alike to engage in the dazzlingly exotic and absurd "fantasy world" of which they themselves were the focal point.
To me, this uniquely hilarious chapter in pop culture will always represent a fantastic victory for sheer imagination and inspired oddity over the ubiquitous machinations of disdain which perpetually threaten the realization of "fantasy worlds" in all creative forms. Both Heather and I have always wanted to go to "FANTASY ISLAND," but have had to settle for the next best thing - reruns! (and, of course, making our own videos.)
