Excerpts and Euphoria

Edward Mowbray

1983, 11:00 minutes, colour, English

TAPECODE 152.01

Slow motion, real time and squeeze-zoom effects are combined with a heavily manipulated soundtrack to create a haunting, documentation of the assasination attempt on Ronald Reagan. The rhythm and palette used renders the work oddly attractive in view of the subject, and the overall effect provides a unique analysis of the manner in which media events are delivered and perceived.
