No Skin My Ass is a fictionalized document of the relationship I had with my hustler ex-boyfriend, a skinhead, who later became indoctrinated by neo-Nazi propagandists. The movie comments on the phenomenon within gay society of the fetishization of skinheads and other paramilitary types, alternately indulging in and critiquing it. This work also contains sexually explicit scenes which are shot and contextualized specifically to comment on the impoverishment of gay male pornography in the eighties. Making this movie in Toronto was extremely difficult; I narrowly avoided censorship from both film labs and the Morality Squad, and have had numerous copies confiscated and destroyed at the Canada/U.S. border.
