This tape addresses the complex, symbolic dimension of human feces, without attempting to resolve the issues raised. It focuses on the symbolic relationship people have towards their bodies, although generally it is men's attitudes that are represented and emphasized. The ambiguous and contradictory attitude toward shit is openly portrayed - exoticness and banality, moroseness and humour, loathing and fascination, and so on. The inability to confront the body with honesty is related to an inability to confront larger, more pressing social topics, with honesty.
